One customer bought this for their daughter’s new apartment and was surprised “at the excellent sound quality from the speakers when we put on the radio and when she plugged in her mp3 player with an aux cord. The multifunctional dial on top can be used to adjust brightness all the way down to nothing,” they add.ĭozens of five-star reviewers love that this alarm clock’s built-in audio input allows it to do double duty as a speaker via an auxiliary cord. Even so, “the numbers are large and very readable. One reviewer, who calls it a “feature-packed package,” especially likes that this clock offers two separate alarms to set and that it has a small footprint. That allowed me to sleep without being concerned that the phone battery might die during the night.” But the USB ports aren’t the only nice thing about this alarm clock. “Instead of having to move my charger from where I prefer to keep it and set it up next to my bed,” he says, “I just plugged the phone in to the clock. “I wanted something that was more of a one-stop function for my bedside,” begins one such reviewer, who purchased two “unfortunate” alarm clocks before finding “the USCCE answer to my prayers! Being able to plug in and charge my phone or Kindle as needed leaves more room on my nightstand.” Another pleased customer didn’t expect to use the USB charging ports, but he found them helpful when anticipating some important middle-of-the-night calls. Nearly 71 percent of reviewers give this alarm clock five stars, including nearly 500 who praise its dual USB ports. One even says “it fits on my mini clamp-on side table just fine with room for my Kindle and tablet, phone and other small items.” It also comes with two USB ports and the sound is adjustable, which one reviewer, who bought this for their daughter who “jump scares” easily, appreciates: “She has it on low and that doesn’t startle her awake but instead is gentle enough to be a pleasant way to awaken.” One reviewer says their daughter “changes the color multiple times every day - super fun and unexpected.” In addition to the night light, reviewers like how compact this light is. One parent, who bought this for their seven-year-old, says, “It stays on long enough for him to fall asleep and if he wakes in the middle of the night he can easily turn the light back on.” It’s a hit with another reviewer, who keeps it in a guest room: “The night light feature is so helpful for guests to move around in an unfamiliar house at night.” Users can also choose between seven colors for the night light, depending on your mood or decor, which dozens admit is cool. I LOVE IT.” They describe the sound as “effective but not jarring,” and add that they “like the nice solid and satisfying click of the button when you set the time.”Ībout a quarter of reviewers love this alarm clock because of its built-in night light that’s both very bright and shifts colors. Another says, “I expected this clock to be okay, based on the reviews, but it is so MUCH better. And, while basic, customers like that that clock includes “a bright night light at the top for reading in bed.” This beep’s job is to awaken, not comfort, and reviewers note that it is not a pleasant, soft tune: “Alarm is loud even on low and an awful sound,” says one. As one puts it, “If, like me, you like the alarm right by your bedside, the dimmer allows you to set the brightness to your comfort level - all the way from exceedingly bright to exceedingly dim.” “ou can even make the display go completely dark,” adds another. Reviewers also say the dimmer is especially effective. “What I like about the clock are the large numbers, so very easy to read” writes a typical reviewer, echoing hundreds of similar declarations. There are nearly 12,000 verified five-star fans of this simple, effective electric alarm clock with battery back-up on Amazon.

Anytime calculating the value to output in a template requires logic more complex than an if/else statement.Make that variable available to a Twig template file.Įxample use cases for adding variables with preprocess functions include:.Store the resulting calculation in a variable.Use PHP to perform some complex logic in our theme.Modules use preprocess functions to expose the dynamic data they manage to Twig template files, or to alter data provided by another module based on custom logic. For example: adding a variable to all template files that contains the combined content a couple of specific fields under a meaningful name like. They are commonly used by themes to add new variables based on custom PHP logic and simplify accessing the data contained in complex entity structures. Preprocess functions are specially-named functions that can be used to add new variables to a Twig template file. Get a high level overview of the types of files/code that themes are made of.īy the end of this tutorial you should be able to explain what a Drupal theme is, and the kind of work a Drupal theme developer will be expected to do.Explain the role of a Drupal themer in the process of building a Drupal site.Themes consist of standard web assets like CSS, JavaScript, and images, combined with Drupal-specific templates for generating HTML markup, and YAML files for telling Drupal about the file and features that make up each individual theme. Frequently referred to as themers, or theme developers. Whenever a page is requested Drupal does the work of assembling the content to display into structured data which is then handed off to the presentation layer to determine how to visually represent the data provided.ĭrupal themes are created by front-end developer. You can think of a theme as a layer, kind of like a screen, that exists between your Drupal content and the users of your site. Themes are the part of Drupal that you, and anyone else visiting your Drupal powered application, see when they view any page in their browser. Discuss some use cases for theme inheritanceīy the end of this tutorial you'll know how to declare the base theme that your theme builds upon.Look at a few examples of template inheritance and how that works.Learn what base themes and subthemes are.Or if you want to leverage modern JavaScript bundling without setting up Webpack on your own. You'll find dozens of contributed base themes on that can serve as a great starting point, especially if you're planning to work with an existing design framework like Bootstrap or Susy Grids. All of this is made possible because of how Drupal's theme layer uses a chain of inheritance when assembling all the parts of a theme.īase themes are also a powerful way to encapsulate standards and best practices into a reusable code base. This allows theme developers to use a different set of markup as the starting point for their theme, organize various theme assets into a more maintainable structure, and more. Which base theme you use is configurable. Custom themes in Drupal must be configured to inherit settings, templates, and other assets from a parent theme. New questions often get more views and responses. If you don't get any more replies (other than from me), you may want to summarized what you learned so far, and post a new question (in this category). Since your question got moved from the initial category (where you posted it) to Time Capsule, maybe someone else who has a Time Capsule will pop by with some advice. I don't have a Time Capsule I have an AirPort Extreme Base Station, which is similar except for not having the built-in storage. Either one should work I'd go with the default choice for your primary Mac. Select either GUID Partition Table (default for Intel Mac) or Apple Partition Map (default for PowerPC Mac). Select 1 partition as the Partition Layout, and click the Options button. Then, go to the Partition tab (not the Erase tab). What you should do (and may want to repeat to make sure), is run Disk Utility and select the drive, NOT the volume indented under the drive, in the Disk Utility sidebar. If so, did you reformat it by erasing the volume using Disk Utility? If you did, it may have retained the partition map scheme used by Windows. I saw that you said it was "Apple formatted," but does that mean it started out being formatted for Windows. As a test, you could probably even use something like a USB flash drive, that is formatted for Mac. I would suggest trying a different USB drive. I tried a different USB external drive, and it worked much better. I had one that would connect, but it was extremely slow for data access. When you see the message of Setup Complete, click Done.Ĭlose the setup window at this point and test to make sure that the Time Capsule is visible on your network. In my experience, not all external hard drives work reliably with my AirPort Extreme Base Station. The setup wizard will set everything up for you automatically. Verify.Type in the password again to confirm Password.Type in a password that will be used for both the Network and Base Station You can use the same name that you used previously if you wish Do NOT use the suggested name that appears.īase Station Name.Type in a name that you want to call the Time Capsule. Network Name.Type in a short, simple name for a network. That will open up the setup wizard, and it will take a minute to analyze the network, then present a screen that looks similar to this except that you will see an icon of the Time Capsule. The example below shows an AirPort Exreme, but you will see Time Capsule on your screen. Just below that listing, click on Time Capsule. Hold in the reset button on the back of the Time Capsule for 10 seconds, then release and allow a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a slow, blinking amber light status.Ĭonnect an Ethernet cable from one of the four LAN ports on the back of the Cisco gateway to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule.Ĭlick the WiFi icon at the top of the Mac's screen and look for a listing of New AirPort Base Station. To do that, disconnect any Ethernet cables that might be connected to the Time Capsule at this time, then power up the Time Capsule and let it run for at least a full minute. The first order of business is to reset the Time Capsule to clear the previous network settings so that it can be set up again to work correctly with the Cisco gateway. Once that is done, if you do not need the wireless network signal that the Time Capsule provides, you have the option to go back in using AirPort Utility and turn off the wireless function, which will make the Time Capsule strictly a backup device. Unfortunately, Apple's set up "wizards" do not provide the exact type of configuration that you are looking for, so the solution is to go ahead and set up the Time Capsule as a wireless access point and verify that things are working. If your steering wheel makes a moaning or whining noise every time you make a turn, it’s an indication that your power steering fluid is low. When the car starts running, the little fluid gets sucked down further into the hoses and starts pulling air bubbles. Why Does My Steering Wheel Whine When I Turn It? It could also be caused by worn pressure hoses. The fluid can leak if a seal is faulty or if components within the steering system are loosely connected. This causes difficulty in turning the car. When the fluid leaks from any part of the system, it becomes ineffective. The fluid is pressurized by the steering pump. In a car that’s working properly, the power steering fluid helps to turn the wheels quickly and effectively by pushing on the pistons that are mounted on the power steering rack. It’s the medium through which power is sent from the steering wheel to the vehicle’s steering mechanism. The power steering fluid acts as a lubricant within the power steering system. Too much fluid that causes seals and valves to collapse under pressure.Aging and ineffective O-rings and seals within the steering system.Putting it all back together is a lot easier though as you will have already worked out the best way to reach to the problem bolts. What Causes the Power Steering Fluid to Leak? If you are thinking of doing this, first of all you need to have a decent set of tools and arm yourself with A LOT of patience as some of the bolts are very tricky to undo. Now I'm done, I'm really proud of myself! (and I've saved some money too) A lot of this stuff was so tight and there was so little room to work that there was a couple of times that I almost gave up. You have to remove airbox, oil dipstick tube, secondary air pump, and 3 clamps that hold the pipe in place. The pipe + 2 sets of washers was £265 from Audi. The job in itself is not too difficult, it's just that there's not room to work, specially to remove the secondary air pump. WD40 will be required for the hose clamps.Īt last I managed to get this PAS high pressure pipe replaced and what a PITA it was!!!!!!! :x Have fun, it's a straight forward job that's rewarding to complete.Įdit: part number 4 is correct, the other on connected to the pump is a soft hose I think. Then with the top off of the res, turn the steering wheel from full lock to full lock a couple of times to get the air out. 15nm if my memory seves me right.Ī new pipe should be around 200-230£ from the dealer.Īlso try to pre charge the pump, as in fill it with fluid after swapping the pipe. Might be worth it to check that the oil pressure sensor is torqued in right. ( overkill, but looks like a fun mod for the engineering crowd)Īs far is I've gathered your leak is nor in a typical place for the PAS pipe, usually it's lower own where corrosion hits. On the plus side you can then introduce an oil cooler which is nice if you track a lot with serious traction. As an alternate you could have a hydrolic company make you one and safe a bit, but that's a trade off with regards to convenience. In the uk used ones can be had on the bay, but that's a gamble in my mind. Well I'm in Norway so prices were not accurate for me neither, but it gives an indication of what you'll have to pay. With all the Influence gained earlier, frequently call for Munitions drops, and use several accrued mines outside the gates (in front of the short brick walls). SIEGES: Enable mine traps!! Drive 2 small cars inside the compound from the one gate accessible by the road (south of the East gate), and park them parallel to the North and East gates, as close to the gates as possible. I set the Ops Center to find stranded soldiers, over the course of the game that usually yields 2 or 3 more soldiers to help with sieges. I think the Generator (and solar upgrade) aren't that helpful, instead I setup a second bunks tent, allowing everyone to rest more (Surgery Tent, Ammunition Workshop, and Latrine are my other three slots). You can upgrade your HQ during this time as well. Take all the time in the world here - you could empty the whole map if you wanted (just stay away from the street Horn and the downed chopper are on, so you don't trigger the mission). Empty entire quadrants, set up outposts, and even head back to the LZ repeatedly to empty your rucksacks. Like the first mission (Head To The LZ), there is no ticking clock here, unlike later High Value Targets. Thomas Horn, you can go on a scavenging binge and loot to your heart's content. Bogatz a lot easier later on, and the outpost takes out a lot of hordes because it is adjacent to the freeway. I like to head north to the 'Chinatown' section (accessible only by foot) and turn the warehouse there into an outpost (and empty the nearby Pharmacy and campsites). I've played the game several times now, and if you want an optimal experience that is a little more stress-free (especially during sieges) here are some tips:Īt the beginning of the game, do NOT go to the LZ, instead veer off course and do some scavenging. One week after a successful scan to 16 page searchable PDF document, it stopped making documents searchable. Canon support proposed it is set by default. Canon support cannot find it on the macOS version of the MFScan Utility and can't explain why. I never saw an option, toggle or preference to change the function. I used the imageClass for 6 months making searchable PDF files. I bought this MFP for the OCR feature I need in my genealogy business to combine multiple page documents that must be searchable. It's described as a feature of this printer and in it's user manual. I was told the OCR software that converts the scan to searchable text is part of the Canon MFScan Utility (Version 1.10.9). Thank you Rick for your prompt and thoughtful response. If anyone has a clue as to what's going on or how to fix it, I'd be thrilled. I need this feature for my business and I'm loosing business while they're figuring it out. I finally asked them to replace the printer - they refused. I shouldn't have to - it's an advertised feature of this printer and described in the user manual. Adobe Acrobat offers one for $15 a month. I'm essentially hearing they don't know why the scanner stopped producing searching file, how to fix it and they advised me to buy a third-party scanning utilitiy. I downloaded the Canon mobile print/scan app for this imageClass - same results. I attempted 5 third-party applications, including Adobe Acrobat who created the PDF format, and none were able to search the files. Unfortunately any scan under any condition from the imageClass yields a non-searchable PDF file. I have done every work around including (several) clean uninstalls/reinstalls of the latest version of the utility software and print driver, installed a firmware update, tried 3 different Apple computers, used TimeMachine to open earlier versions of the MF Scan Utility, even an earlier clone of my MacBook Pro. There is no toggle or check box to make the PDF scan searchable on the MF Scan Utility for a Apple computers. Supposedly it has gone to the "engineers" and Canon Support are awaiting a response. I have been on the phone with Canon support three times for over 6 hours total and they still have no explanation why and no fix. There is no precipitating event, such as a system software update. I have a MFP imageCLASS MF267dw that stopped producing searchable PDF scanned files. I sent the logsforsupport to find out why I couldn’t download models through the software, they said something is causing the download to stop half way, the only way to solve/test this would be to connect to a different wifi network but unfortunately I can’t as my PC is hardwired only and don’t have another source of wifi here, if it were a laptop I would of taken it to work to test.
