When the car starts running, the little fluid gets sucked down further into the hoses and starts pulling air bubbles. Why Does My Steering Wheel Whine When I Turn It? It could also be caused by worn pressure hoses. The fluid can leak if a seal is faulty or if components within the steering system are loosely connected. This causes difficulty in turning the car. You have to remove airbox, oil dipstick tube, secondary air pump, and 3 clamps that hold the pipe in place. The pipe + 2 sets of washers was £265 from Audi. The job in itself is not too difficult, it's just that there's not room to work, specially to remove the secondary air pump. Might be worth it to check that the oil pressure sensor is torqued in right. ( overkill, but looks like a fun mod for the engineering crowd)Īs far is I've gathered your leak is nor in a typical place for the PAS pipe, usually it's lower own where corrosion hits. On the plus side you can then introduce an oil cooler which is nice if you track a lot with serious traction. As an alternate you could have a hydrolic company make you one and safe a bit, but that's a trade off with regards to convenience. ![]() In the uk used ones can be had on the bay, but that's a gamble in my mind.
